request help with "Blair Townships" Puzzle cache

Postby haloedversionls » Sat Feb 20, 2010 7:39 pm

Hello all,

As I'm sure I've mentioned, I have been in the process of planning a puzzle cache that spans Blair County. The premise is that there are clues to the final coordinates located in each of the 15 townships of Blair County.

Not to give too much away for those of you who enjoy solving puzzles; I'd like some assistance with finding good clues within each of the townships. ONLY if it is convenient, could I ask for some reconnaissance.

I live in Logan Township, and travel in and around the townships around Logan, and along the I99 corridor, North through Snyder Township frequently. I would need the most help with the outlaying townships to the east and south (Greenfield, Taylor, N. Woodbury, Huston, Woodbury, Catharine).

Please let me know if you'd like to help, and I can PM you the hint info for the specific county and what I'm looking for. I'd like for each of the hints to, ideally, be placed relative to something connected to the history of the Township or the Township name (example: the hint in Logan Township can be found near the marker for the Kittanning Indian Trail as this trail is directly related to the historical significance of Logan Township, and indirectly related to the naming of Logan Township.

Thanks!!!

I'll continue to keep my eyes open, but so far I've found nothing of hisorical significance in Taylor. I found an Honor Roll monument in Freedom township next to the old elem. school. I can try to drive around the two Woodburys and keep my eyes open there.

I remember you mentioning this one before and it sounds like a great idea, I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

I live in Huston township, on the southern edge near the N. Woodbury township border. I don't know anything about the history of it's name / significance, but I'll give it some thought & let you know if I come up with anything. If you have any more specific ideas of how I could help / what to look for, give a shout.
