anyone interested in trying to cache on Sat. 3/5?

Postby eggplanti9 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 10:37 am

So I know there's snow everywhere and it interferes a little with caching... but there've got to be some caches we can find somewhere... and the weather looks nice (relatively speaking) for Saturday and I'm dying to get out for some caching. Anyone else interested?

My schedule was changed to weekend Fri, Sat & Sun. Off Mon-Thur. But would like to get out there.

Has anyone done the Vampire caches and the other SGL cache? How about the other four at Prince Gallitzen? I'll keep thinking of some more...

For my part, I think I have the SGL cache you're speaking of, but not the Vampire caches or most of the PG caches that we didn't get last time. So any of those could work... unless the snow would be too much of an impediment. I know some cachers (Logsplitter, Purple_KV and kf4oox) have continued caching in this weather and they just take a shovel and dig until they find the caches. I guess that's one approach.

I will have to withdraw for this Saturday. I just have too much going on and cannot find the time. Sorry.

I do, however, have tomorrow (Fri) off.

If it continues to stay warm, I expect the trails may be passable for the average hiker by late Fri or Saturday.

Just so nobody posts a "we haven't heard anything from Rich yet..." I'm out for this weekend. My car has a hole in the muffler that I need to get taken care of on Saturday, and that should chew up the whole day. And Sunday is my cleaning/wash day for this week, so I won't have time time. Then next week I'll be in Maryland all week, so I'll be leaving late Sunday for that. Wooooooo!

I still don't know what I need to do tomorrow car-wise. I don't have an estimated pay-out, but I may need to do some research. I'll keep tuned to this forum and will certainly post my plans later tonight.

I think at this point it's probably best for me to back out on this. I was tempted to still try to pull something off, just for the sake of getting out... but my mom has decided to come at noon tomorrow, and Megan will be happier if I stick around and help clean up (and despite Andrew's optimism, I have a feeling the caches will still be mostly buried anyway). Maybe next weekend sometime.

But hey... since we haven't heard anything from Rich, maybe he'd be free for some caching tomorrow if anyone does want to...

No problem. I'll keep my eyes open for future plans, though I know now I'm out for next weekend and most likely the next too. End of March?
